Faith is welcome here, alongside the deeper emotional and spiritual parts of healing.

For some people, faith is an important part of how they make sense of life’s challenges. Christian counseling offers the opportunity to thoughtfully integrate spiritual values with evidence-based therapy.

At Holistic Mental Health Counseling, faith integration is always optional and guided by the client. Some people want to explore how their beliefs support healing and resilience, while others simply appreciate working with a therapist who understands the role faith can play in emotional well-being.

I provide Christian counseling for adults in Orlando, with in-person sessions available in Lake Nona and virtual therapy available throughout Florida. Many clients I work with are navigating anxiety, life transitions, stress, or a desire for deeper personal growth.

What is Christian Counseling?

Christian counseling is a form of therapy that thoughtfully integrates psychological insight with a client’s Christian beliefs and values when that is meaningful to them.

For some clients, this may include reflecting on spiritual perspectives that offer encouragement, purpose, or grounding during difficult seasons. For others, it simply means working with a therapist who respects and understands the role faith may play in their life.

The foundation of therapy remains evidence-based counseling, with faith integrated only when it supports the client’s goals and comfort level.

When Faith is Part of the Healing Process

Many people find that their faith becomes especially important during periods of stress, uncertainty, or transition. Christian counseling may be helpful when navigating:

Anxiety and persistent worry
Major life transitions or identity shifts
Relationship challenges
Grief or loss
Feeling disconnected from a sense of purpose
Navigating faith questions in difficult seasons

Therapy offers a supportive space to explore these experiences with curiosity, compassion, and practical guidance.

What Faith-Integrated Therapy Can Look Like

Faith-based counseling looks different for each client. For those who want it, sessions may occasionally include:

Reflecting on spiritual values that guide decisions

Exploring how faith shapes resilience and meaning

Discussing spiritual struggles or doubts in a safe space

Integrating prayer or scripture when requested

For many clients, faith simply provides an additional framework for understanding emotional experiences and personal growth. Everything in therapy is collaborative and paced according to what feels most helpful for you.

Faith, Spirituality, and Personal Values in Therapy

For some clients, healing is closely connected to faith. For others, it may involve a deeper connection to personal values, meaning, nature, or inner reflection.

While this page focuses on Christian counseling, therapy can also make space for the deeper parts of emotional healing that many people describe as spiritual in nature. This might include values-based reflection, journaling, time in nature, or other forms of inner work that support clarity, grounding, and self-understanding.

My approach is always guided by the individual. For clients who want Christian faith to be part of the process, that can be woven into therapy thoughtfully and respectfully. For others, care may center more on personal values, emotional insight, and whole-person healing.

Christian Counseling for Anxiety and Life Transition

Many adults seek Christian counseling when navigating anxiety or significant life transitions. Faith-integrated therapy can support clients in:

  • Quieting anxious thought patterns
  • Reconnecting with a sense of purpose and direction
  • Developing practical coping strategies for stress
  • Exploring deeper emotional patterns that contribute to anxiety

Christian Counseling — Common Questions

What is Christian counseling and how is it different from regular therapy?

Christian counseling integrates evidence-based therapy with a client’s Christian faith and values — when that is meaningful to them. Regular therapy is secular by default.

Is Christian Counseling available online in Florida?

Yes. Telehealth sessions are available to adults throughout Florida. If you prefer to meet in person, sessions are offered in Lake Nona, Orlando. Many clients find virtual therapy just as effective — and appreciate the flexibility it offers.

How much does Christian Counseling cost in Orlando?

The cost of Christian counseling in Orlando can vary depending on the therapist, session format, and insurance options. At Holistic Mental Health Counseling, Christian counseling is available at our standard private-pay session rate. You can visit our rates and fees page for current pricing or reach out if you’d like help finding the best fit.

Spirituality in Therapy (Optional)

Spirituality is never assumed or imposed. If it matters to you, it can be included thoughtfully and at your pace.

What does “Christian counseling” mean in your practice? +

God is welcome in the room. Faith is never assumed or imposed, but if you want it included, we can integrate prayer, Scripture-based reflection, and faith-informed resources alongside traditional talk therapy — always by choice and aligned with your goals.

What’s the difference between values-respecting therapy and Christian counseling by request? +

Values-respecting therapy helps you clarify what gives your life meaning — your values, purpose, and identity — and how you want to live toward those things. Christian counseling includes the same work, with the added option of incorporating a Christian perspective (such as Scripture-based reflection or prayer) when we mutually agree it fits your goals.

Do I have to be Christian to work with you? +

No. Clients from all backgrounds and belief systems are welcome.

How is spirituality explored in session? +

We’ll briefly ask about spiritual and religious background during the initial assessment because it can help clarify your worldview, strengths, resources, and any spiritual concerns that may be impacting well-being. After that, it’s entirely your choice — therapy can remain fully secular, or we can integrate spirituality only if it’s part of what you want to explore.
